Shelley is a parent of 2 children and 3 grand children, she has worked within the statutory and voluntary sector for over 25 years, spending 17 years of this as a Children and Families’ Service Manager. Qualification include, Level 5 in Adult Health and Social Care, Level 3 in Play work and Level 4 in Volunteer Management. Acheiving an A1 assessors award and having British Sign Language skills has enabled Shelley to accredit Deaf employees with NVQ’s. Shelley is passionate about Early Intervention and firmly believes in the Home-Start model, providing bespoke support at the right time. Employed as a Home-Start organiser in British Forces Germany, she was proud to have her efforts rewarded with a Generals commendation for services to support military families. She went on to achieve a level 7 award in Strategic Management and has put the gained knowledge and skills to best practise to manage the Home-Start Colchester charity, adapting and developing existing services to best meet the needs of local children and families.
